Three captains from Tyndall will be attending the United States Air Force Weapons School early next month, but one of them will be returning back to the 43rd Fighter Squadron with a new title.

Capt. Charles Schuck, 43rd FS instructor pilot, Capt. Dameion Briggs and Capt. John Ohlund, 325th Air Control Squadron air battle managers, were all selected to attend the five-and- a-half month long school conducted at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

The mission of the USAFWS is to teach graduate-level instructor courses that provide the world's most advanced training in weapons and tactics employment to Air Force officers.

"U.S. Air Force Weapons School is the premier tactical employment school across various airframes," said Captain Schuck.

Also known as the Weapons Instructor Course, students will learn how to be an instructor of instructors, while maintaining a humble, approachable and credible mindset.

While both future paths of 325th ACS captains are uncertain and won't be determined until a closer date to graduation from the USAFWS, Captain Schuck knows where he will be returning to Tyndall.

"My new job [here] will be Chief of Weapons and Tactics for the 43rd Fighter Squadron," he said. "My duties will include running the 'Upgrading Instructor Program' and being the tactical expert in the squadron for all items dealing with Raptor employment at Tyndall."

With a year on station at Tyndall, the 43rd FS captain has been instructing flying and employing the F-22 Raptor during all phases of flight and over the entire spectrum of F-22 capablities.

The 325th Fighter Wing's primary mission is to provide air dominance training for the F-15C Eagle and the F-22 Raptor pilots and maintenance personnel and air battle managers to support the combat Air Force.
