The 325th Fighter Wing commander, Brig. Gen. James Browne, pinned on his new rank during an official promotion ceremony June 4. The ceremony was officiated by (Ret.) Gen. T. Michael Moseley, former United States Air Force chief of staff.

"We are here to recognize accomplishments," said General Moseley. "We are here to recognize one of our own."

Family, friends and fellow Airmen gathered in the Heritage Club as the pin-on ceremony began. The National Anthem was followed by an invocation.

General Moseley recognized the many accomplishments General Browne has reached in his career so far. He said he has done everything the Air Force has asked of him both academically and professionally.

"You are ideally qualified to do this," said General Moseley of the commander. "You've got the background, the experience, the temperament. I've seen (your) leadership attributes and potential to be at the leading edge for air dominance in our country."

General Moseley joined the commander's wife, Alison Browne, and the rest of his family in pinning on General Browne's first star, signifying the promotion to the rank of brigadier general.

After the applause, General Moseley administered the oath to the newly minted one-star.
"Being promoted to the grade of brigadier general is an honor and a very humbling experience," said the new one-star general. "This is a great day. I would not be here without the support of every one of you directly or indirectly."

General Browne then thanked the crowd and the many friends and family who came to celebrate this special day.
