The 325th Fighter Wing Commander learned the duties of a 325th Operation Support Squadron Airman May 21, as part of the Airman's Shadow program.

Brigadier Gen. James Browne, 325th FW commander, shadowed Senior Airman Christopher Sabecky, 325th OSS aircrew flight equipment journeyman, while he performed his daily responsibilities at the 43rd Fighter Squadron.

"Having the wing commander shadow me in my job was great," said Airman Sabecky. "It showed all of us in my shop that he wants to know and learn our day-to-day duties."

Airman Sabecky showed the commander around the shop and demonstrated a variety of his daily duties.

"In the Aircrew Flight Equipment shop (the wing commander) was shown how we open the shop with our preflight procedures on checking pilots gear," said Airman Sabecky. "(It was then) followed by the breakdown and the inspection of the Advanced Concept Ejection Seat II survival kit, along with its installation in the ACES II ejection seat."

Airman Sabecky's performs flight equipment tasks for two flying training squadrons employing F-15 and F-22 aircraft. He also installs, inspects and fits aircrew helmets, oxygen masks, anti-gravity garments, vests, torso harnesses and life preserver units for 56 assigned/attached aircrew.

"He is an extremely motivated Airman whose devotion to duty and attention to detail is unsurpassed," said Master Sgt. Carl Colvin, Airman Sabecky's supervisor and nominator for the program. "Since arriving in November 2009, (he) has taken the initiative to learn all aspects of all flying gear and Aircrew Flight Equipment operations. Airman Sabecky is a true professional and shining example for his peers to model."
