325th Fighter Wing earns Outstanding Unit Award status

The 325th Fighter Wing was recently awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for the period of July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009.

During this time period, the wing generated more than 10,800 flying hours, directly contributing to the successful training of more than 414 F-22 and F-15 pilots, air battle managers and intelligence personnel in support of the Combat Air Forces. Additionally, the wingĀ strengthenedĀ  the future of air dominance by graduating the inaugural F-22 basic course and Raptor Maintenance Ready Technician course, producing more than 10 fully-trained F-22 operations and maintenance Airmen.

Furthermore, the wing provided direct support to Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM by providing more than 450 combat-ready Airmen to the deployed battlefield.

The wing also hosted more than 65,000 people at the annual Gulf Coast Salute Air Show, 321 honor Guard events and 40 civic leader tours.

Finally, in the course of achieving 23,000 hours of academic instruction, the 325th FW upheld the highest standards of excellence, and garnered more than 70 higher-headquarters awards.
