FSS has 'Gone Green' with St. Pat's Day bash! Published March 5, 2010 By Sarah English 325th Force Support Squadron Marketing Specialist TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Irish luck has its benefits, and will abound at the St. Patrick's Day Bash happening 6 - 11 p.m. March 17 at the Sports Lounge. Along with a special menu for the night of corned beef and cabbage, green drafts for $2 and great music, karaoke and dancing will be a lot of games and prizes! This event is also the kickoff event of the Club Membership Drive that began March 1st. "As part of this event, if you sign up for the Club that night, you will get 6 months free dues," said Sylvia Bowles, Tyndall Clubs manager. "The Air Force is giving away three months free dues, but we are adding on three extra for our club members. As always, if you are the rank of E-1 through E-4 or an O-1, you will get an entire year of free dues. " She added, "If you are already a club member, and you invite a non-member friend and they sign up, you get three months free dues for the referral. Check your March Leisure Guide for your referral card." Also, as part of this promotion, each club member who comes will be put into a drawing for $100, and each new club member who signs up will be put into a separate drawing for $100. "We have so many prizes to give away at the Gone Green event, chances are good that you will walk out with something," said Sandy North, 325th Force Support Community Liaison. Food gift certificates from a local bagel shop, certificates for free greens fee and cart from Pelican Point, tanning gift certificates are up for grabs as door prizes at the party. The big competitions of the night will be Sing for Your Supper Karaoke from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and the Irish Jig competition at 9 p.m. In the Sing For Your Supper Karaoke, people can sing a karaoke song, and get $1 towards the night's dinner special of corned beef and cabbage, or a green draft beer, only once per person. In the Irish Jig competition, participants will compete by popularity for a 2-night stay with dinner and breakfast at IP Casino in Biloxi. There will also be a chance to win prizes during games happening throughout the evening, such as: The Green With Envy game where everyone who comes in gets $1 to use towards a green daft beer, or put in the pot to try and win $100. The Lucky Clover Match game where everyone who comes through the door gets a half of a clover, and when they find their match in the crowd, they win a prize. Then there is the Kiss the Blarney Stone game, where a kiss on the stone gets participants an entrance into a drawing for a prize! This is an adult only event.
