Lodging evaluation is outstanding

Tyndall Air Force Base lodging facilities received an outstanding from the Air Force lodging accreditation standards evaluation team.

The team visited Tyndall Jan. 24 to Jan. 27 to evaluate how well the facilities complied with the Air Force standards. The overall score given was a 93.9, an increase from last year's score of 89.1.

The evaluation covered more than 500 categories including: housekeeping, maintenance, linens and budgets.

"We are a team" said Al Tremaine, 325th Force Support Squadron Lodging Manager, "and we all work together as one."

According to Mr. Tremaine, the evaluation team only gave lodging a 14-day notice that they would be arriving. The employees worked hard and went thru standard checklists to ensure everything was correct.

A lot of hard work and dedication went into preparing for the inspection.

"I am very lucky to have amazing co-workers and even better management," said Stevie Lee, Sand Dollar Inn Maintenance Worker. "They supply us with the tools to make customer service an easy job."

Mr. Lee is responsible for general repairs to all base lodging facilities, and his job relies heavily on customer satisfaction.

The lodging team employees gathered Jan. 28 to hear the results delivered by Mr. Tremaine and Col. Michael Fleck, 325th Mission Support Group Commander.

"This was a great event and a tremendous feat," said Colonel Fleck. "Units are what make the large organizations like this work and that is how you make the magic happen."

While the crowd cheered for their success, Mr. Tremaine urged them to continue their hard work.

"Remember it does not stop," said Mr. Tremaine. "We set the benchmark and that is where we have to stay or go higher."

The evaluation team is expected to be back in roughly two years
