The 325th Fighter Wing Legal Office will again be providing free tax assistance, including electronic filing, for all military members and their dependents, as well as for members of the retirement community. In addition, volunteers will be able to address military-specific tax issues, such as combat zone tax benefits and moving expenses, as well as provide information regarding deductions, child care credit and other important financial issues.

Tax services are available by appointment and will be provided at the Tax Center, located next to the Legal Office in the Base Support Building (Bldg 662). The office's hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Jan. 25 through April 15.

When coming to the legal office for tax preparation assistance, please remember to bring the following documents that the volunteers will need to prepare your taxes:

· Military ID
· Social Security cards or Social Security verification letter for taxpayer, spouse, and all dependents
· Birthdates for individuals and dependents
· Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, or 1099-R) from each employer
· Childcare/Daycare expense information, including total paid for daycare provider, and the provider's name, address, social security number or business Employer Identification Number
· Bank interest and dividend statements (Form 1099)
· Receipts for deductible expenses.
· Supporting documentation for any other sources of income or relevant expenses
· Power of attorney, if applicable
· Voided check for direct deposit of any refund
· A copy of last year's tax returns, if available
· Lastly, for a married couple to file a joint return electronically, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms.
