Demonstrating Air Dominance Published Oct. 22, 2009 By 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- Squadrons representing the 325th Operations Group and the 325th Maintenance Group recently competed in the 325th Fighter Wing Turkey Shoot. This legendary competition, which has been held at Tyndall Air Force Base for over a decade, takes on a new structure in how pilots, controllers, maintainers, and intelligence personnel conduct business throughout the contest, where one team will prove themselves as top winners in air dominance. The Turkey Shoot award winners are: 325th Operations Group: The 325th Air Control Squadron - Close Control Sim Competition: The ACS held an internal competition using the foundations of control that are taught to the undergraduate Air Battle Managers as they progress through the school house. Top Close Control Simulator: Capt. Junya "Penta" Takahata Top Weapons Technician: Senior Airman Justin Grahmn Top Pilot Simulator: Airman 1st Class Brian Burgess Offensive Counter Air Simulation Competition: This was a 4-ship (F-15 or F-22) sim competition that included four pilots, an ACS controller and an Intelligence officer. The Top Sim Team: 95th Fighter Squadron Lt. Col. Mark "Harpo" Irving Maj. Matthew "Stiff" Thomas Capt. Caleb "Slick" Haley Capt. Brian "Patch" Marbach Top Scope - Simulator: Capt. Ben "Chicks" Peterson Top Intel: Capt. Lacy "Igloo" Davidson Live Fly Competition: These were live-fly operations during the week. Top Scope - Live: Capt. Jennifer "Shay" King Top Gun Team - Live: 43rd Fighter Squadron Maj. John "Lobo" Echols Maj. Kevin "Boone" Cruson 325th Maintenance Group: Load Off Competition: This competition measured the timeliness and accuracy of a team's ability to load munitions onto the Wing's jets. Top Weapons Load: 95th Aircraft Maintenance Unit: Staff Sgt. Brian Baker Airman Brian Allen Senior Airman Christina Flores Launch Crew Competition: Measured pre-flight verification and launch performance. Top Launch Crew: ACFT 27 Staff Sgt.
