Officials from Air Force Headquarters A1P recently selected and announced Air Force-wide winners of the 2008 A1 Annual Awards; three Tyndall Airmen were selected among the nominees.

The A1 Awards recognize standouts from the A1 community, including those outside the traditional mission support, services or force support squadrons.

The Tyndall Airmen selected and awards won are:

Services Senior NCO of the Year (Base Level)
Master Sgt. Guadalupe Rodriguez Valdez, 325th Force Support Squadron

First-Term Airmen Center NCOIC of the Year (Base Level)
Tech. Sgt. Samantha Whitfield, 325 FSS

Education and Training Manager of the Year, Junior Enlisted (Unit Level)
Tech. Sgt. Kelly Rutherford, 325th Maintenance Operations Squadron

"These Airmen are not simply award winners, they are the ones charging forward and leading their career fields, setting the pace for their peers and co-workers," said Brig. Gen. Darryl Roberson, 325th Fighter Wing commander. "To have these Airmen representing Tyndall is truly inspiring and speaks to the dedication to the mission practiced here every day. I, as well as the entire base community, commend them for their efforts and hard work."

Along with the award win, all three Airmen are now authorized to wear the Air Force Recognition Ribbon.
