Hyatt 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Air Force Association selected five Airmen from around the Air Force to represent the Air Force Team of the Year; one of the Airmen comes from Tyndall Air Force Base. Staff Sgt. Phillip Dyer, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal craftsman, has been selected to team. Each year, the Air Force Association, along with the major command-level command chief master sergeants and the Office of the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, selects a specific Air Force career field for recognition as the Air Force Team of the Year. This year's team of the year consists of the Airmen of the Air Force Specialty Code 3E8X1, Explosive Ordnance Disposal. "It's an honor to be chosen to represent Team EOD along with the other fine outstanding EOD team members from around the Air Force," said Sergeant Dyer. "Being chosen from five different bases shows how EOD can come together as a team no matter where we are from and still get the task at hand done." The individual members selected are professionals who clearly display superior technical expertise, attract the praise of their supervisors and provide leadership and inspiration to others. Sergeant Dyer and company will attend a presentation ceremony April 6 at the Air Force Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Airmen will have the opportunity to tour the capitol and other sites, meet senior Air Force and Congressional leaders and accept awards on behalf of their career field at the ceremony. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Expeditionary Medics, Services, Vehicle Operators, and Command and Control are career fields recognized in the recent past as team of the year.
