Maintenance Group wins Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez Awards Published Feb. 24, 2009 By Senior Airman Anthony J. Hyatt 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team Tyndall was excited when they received news that 325th Maintenance Squadron had won in multiple categories for the 2008 Air Education and Training Command Lieutenant General Leo Marquez Award. Lt. Col. Aaron Rigdon, 325th MXS commander, and Capt. Craig Williams, 325th MXS munitions flight commander, won the prestigious awards. The Lieutenant General Leo Marquez Award is presented to maintainers who have demonstrated the highest degree of sustained job performance, job knowledge, job efficiency and results in the categories of aircraft, munitions and missile, and communications-electronics maintenance. Colonel Rigdon won the award in the field grade manager munitions and missile maintenance category. "I was glad to receive it on behalf of all the dedicated maintenance professionals that work in the munitions flight, as this is more their award than mine," said the colonel. "MXS was successful because we have the greatest ammo Airmen in the Air Force, who consistently strive for excellence, and mission accomplishment is nothing short of amazing." Captain Williams won the award in the company grade officer category. "This is not an individual award, but a team award," said Captain Williams. "In addition to the talented AMMO team, the AMMO spouses continually make daily sacrifices, so that AMMO can carry out the daily mission-securing our nation's freedom." "The Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez Award is the greatest validation of a logistics Airman's excellence in his or her trade," said Col. Craig hall, 325th Maintenance Group commander. "Colonel Rigdon and Captain Williams winning the awards is no surprise, they epitomize 'Safe, Disciplined, Professional'." Both individuals will represent AETC at the Air Force-level.
