Tyndall family visits base
Mary Troff, daughter of Lt. Francis B. Tyndall, visited the base yesterday with her husband Fredric Troff to view some of the installation named after her father. The Lieutenant was a fighter pilot during World War One and was credited with shooting down four German planes well behind enemy lines. Tyndall Air Force Base was named after Lieutenant Tyndall in 1941, eleven years after his death.
