The Tyndall Tigers men's varsity basketball team won their final home game against the visiting Eglin Air Force Base Eagles 83-74 Saturday.

Due to a stagnant offense and sub-par defense, Tyndall went into the half trailing 45-33.

In the second half, Tyndall began to chip away at Eglin's lead. The Tigers were able to take their first lead of the game, 59-57, with less than six minutes left in the game. Tyndall converted on late free-throws and did not relinquish the lead.

Melvin Smith led the Tigers in scoring with a game-high 23 points, followed by Jared Austin's 20 and Marqus Armour's 16. Antonio Bazemore and Armour tied with 15 rebounds each. Harrison Boose led Eglin in scoring with 14 points.

Tyndall will travel to Naval Station Mayport Saturday to compete in the Southeastern Military Athletic Conference Men's Post-Season Tournament.
