A five-person briefing team, from the Air Force Personnel Center in Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, visited Tyndall Air Force Base Thursday to "Spread the Word."

The team, made up of Col. Leslie Formolo, AFPC Chief of Airmen Assignments, Maj. Paul Fidler, Air Expeditionary Force Operations directorate, Maj. Greg Nita, Assignments directorate, Jim Hale, Civilian Force Integration directorate and Capt. Ron Bell, Personnel Services directorate, gave the Tyndall Airmen and civilians some useful information.

Tyndall was the last stop of the team's three-week tour around the Southeast United States. The AFPC team has been visiting bases to explain their priorities, the AFPC's evolution and to receive feedback from Airmen.

"One of the Air Force's top priorities is to develop and care for our Air Force people, and we want to hear from you about what works and what we can improve," said Maj. Gen. K.C. McClain, Air Force Personnel Center commander.

The Spread the Word briefing provided information on personnel issues and delivery transformations, as well as allows all Air Force members direct, face-to-face contact with AFPC personnel to address concerns and provide feedback.

Specific topics covered in the briefing were 365-day deployments options, the Global AEF tempo-banding system, civilian hiring procedures, assignment processes and the F-15 drawdown.

Captain Bell also touched on information about uniform updates to come. He mentioned a new light-weight Airman Battle Uniform top, a new cold-weather boot, a stain-resistant green boot and also a new, less noise-making, physical training jacket and pants in the making.

Another focus was the growth of the Air Force.

"We are desperately looking for volunteers for military training instructors and recruiters," said Colonel Formolo.

The military and civilian assignments experts stayed after the session to answer additional questions Airmen had for them.
