In seek of their second consecutive victory over a Southeastern Military Athletic Conference leader; the Tigers came up short Saturday.

The Tyndall Tigers men's varsity basketball team lost to the first-place Hurlburt Field Commandos 86-60.

Early in the first half, Tyndall's guard Chris Walker suffered a severe knee injury. After a 55-minute injury delay the game finally resumed. However, Tyndall came out very flat as Hurlburt pulled off a 26-7 run to take a 20-point lead into the half.

In the second half, the Tigers made several attempts to get back in the game, but the Commando' s lead was too large to overcome.

Marqus Armour led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, followed by Jared Austin's 11 points and Greg Brown's 10 points. Melvin Smith led the team in assists with five and Armour took team rebounding honors with 12. Tchalla Williams led Hurlburt in scoring with a game-high 17 points.

The Tigers remain in fourth place in the SEMAC standings with a 5-6 win-loss record.

Tyndall will host the Eagles and Lady Eagles from Eglin Air Force Base Feb. 7 in their final home games of the season. Game times will be 2 p.m. for women and 4 p.m. for men.
