The 325th Operations Support Squadron was recently awarded the "Top Operations Award" for the Air Education and Training Command and the "Top Operations and Training Support Squadron Award" during the AETC symposium in San Antonio.

"I couldn't be more proud of the squadron," said Lt. Col. Steven Burgh, 325th OSS commander. "This award is recognition for the outstanding support we provided the 325th Fighter Wing in fiscal year '08."

The Top Operations and Training Support Squadron Award was one of four categories presented and the Top Operations Squadron Award was the overall winner from the four categories.

This means that the Silver Knights are the number one Operations Squadron in all of AETC, said Capt. Petrit Hasa, 325th OSS executive officer.

"Everybody took to heart the mindset of continuous improvement in everything they do," said Colonel Burgh. "From our youngest Airman all the way through the chain of command, each person stepped up and tried to be the best."

Colonel Burgh said the squadron was formally evaluated during the Operational Readiness Inspection and that the squadron's performance during the inspection was a key to winning the award.

"We always emphasize mission, including deployed mission, professional development and family," said Colonel Burgh. "It's an honor for headquarters to recognize this and select us at the Top Operations Squadron in AETC."
