Tigers end four-game skid

The Tyndall Tigers men's varsity basketball team ended their four-game losing streak defeating the Moody Air Force Base Tigers 79-66 Saturday.

With the win, Tyndall's win-loss record improves to 3-4. They are now tied with Moody for fourth place in the Southeastern Military Athletic Conference behind Mayport (4-1), Hurlburt Field (5-2) and Keesler (5-2).

Tyndall jumped out to an early lead behind the scoring of Antonio Bazemore and Dustin Ripley. They helped take a 40-24 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Moody came out on fire; going on a 14-4 run to pull within six points with a little less than 14 minutes remaining. With eight minutes left, Moody finally took their first lead of the game 59-58, but the Tyndall Tigers proved to be too much as they put the game away with a late 16-2 run.

Marqus Armour led all of Tyndall with a game-high 18 points, followed by Ripley's 16, Chris Walker's 13 and Bazemore's 11. Rasheem Ramsey led the team in assists with five, while Ripley added 10 rebounds. Moody's leading scorer was Joe Nathan with 15 points.

The Tyndall Tigers next game is away Jan. 10, 2009 against the Naval Station Mayport Hurricanes.
