The Tyndall Tigers men's varsity basketball team lost 84-79 Saturday to the Ft. Benning Bandits.

Tyndall's nine game home winning-streak was snapped after the loss.

Tigers led early with a score of 23-7, but the Bandits were able to cash in on Tyndall's mistakes. In the first half, Tyndall committed 18 fouls, which led to easy points the other way. After the huge deficit early, the Bandits cut the lead to 44-41.

In the second half, Tyndall was able to increase their lead to double digits. Bending but not breaking, the Bandits fought back. With little more than a minute left in the game, the Bandits took their first lead of the game, 82-79. Tyndall failed to recapture the lead four times late in the game, allowing Ft. Benning to close the game out from the free-throw line.

Marqus Armour led Tyndall in scoring with 19 points, followed by Greg Brown's 13, Rasheem Ramsey's 11 and Dan Merlin's 10. Dan Cooper led the team in assists with six and Sean Scarber led in rebounding with 10. Ft. Benning's Reggie Kennedy had a game-high 20 points.

The Naval Station Hurricanes will travel to Tyndall to play the Tigers at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Base Fitness Center.
