The Heritage Club is hosting a back-to-school carnival from 5 - 7:30 p.m. Aug 22.

"It is a way to appreciate and thank our club members," said Sylvia Bowles, 325th Services Squadron Tyndall Clubs manager. "We had good feedback from the luau and hope this event is just as fun and family-friendly."

The carnival is open to the base populace and is free for club members and those who become club members that day.

"This is the first time we've held the event," said Corey Coleman, 325th Services Squadron Services Marketing director. "It's an appreciation event for existing club members and also a recruiting event to recruit new club members."

Civilians and contractors are eligible for club membership, as well as active-duty members.

"Being a club member has many benefits," said Mrs. Bowles. "Not only are special deals and opportunities offered on installations on base, but there will be quarterly occasions like this, where all ages can come out and participate in the fun."

This is a back-to-school event because it welcomes the whole family and it's on the Friday after school starts, said Mrs. Bowles.

"I hope that it is a good way for families to come out and have a relaxing evening. There will be a lot to do to keep kids occupied," said Ms. Coleman. "We will have fun games, prizes, hamburgers, hotdogs and more. We welcome folks to come."
