Team Tyndall is 'Excellent'

The 325th Fighter Wing received an overall "excellent" rating for the Operation Readiness Inspection June 15-24.

The biennial comprehensive evaluation tests the wing's ability to succeed in its mission and in crisis response, both locally and globally.

"You did it!" said Col. Darryl Roberson, 325th Fighter Wing commander to a crowd of Airmen gathered to hear the inspection out brief today. "Congratulations to all of you for the hard work. Awesome... just fantastic!"

During the inspection, more than 120 highly-trained inspectors evaluated every facet of the 325th Fighter Wing to include its ability to conduct its mission.

"I'm proud of the men and women of the 325th Fighter Wing and the support we received from all of our tenant units," said Colonel Roberson. "The efforts demonstrated during this ORI reflect our core value of 'Excellence in all we do.' Team Tyndall has once again proven the ability to execute our mission of providing 'World-Class Training to GUARANTEE Air Dominance'."

At the conclusion of the wing's evaluation, the AETC Inspector General team awarded 23 "outstanding" ratings, 99 "excellent" ratings, 53 "satisfactory" ratings and one "marginal."

The 325th Maintenance Group, the 325th Mission Support Group and the 325th Medical Group each received an overall "excellent" rating, while the 325th Operations Group received an "outstanding."

"According to the (AETC) IG, we haven't seen a performance like this in AETC in 10 years," said Maj. Gen. Irving Halter, 19th Air Force commander, to the men and women assembled for the out brief. "The ORI team that inspected you is tough, so when they say you're good - you're good."

The following individuals were recognized by the IG Team for their outstanding professional performance and coined during the ceremony: Senior Airman Kenneth Clark, 325th Services Squadron; Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Campbell, 325th Security Forces Squadron; Master Sgt. Julie Churilla, 325th Logistics Readiness Division; Capt. Jason Nalepa, 95th Fighter Squadron; and Gary Poland, 325th Maintenance Group.

"The effort and attention to detail 325th Fighter Wing personnel showed in preparation for and during the inspection was amazing," said Colonel Roberson. "Tyndall personnel demonstrated the highest standards and received the best result on an AETC ORI in at least 10 years. The Checkertails definitely Located and Liquidated the ORI as an obstacle. Extremely well done!"
