Tyndall Tax Center opens Friday

The Tyndall Air Force Base tax center opens Friday at the Base Support Building, bldg. 662, at the west entrance next to the legal office. Hours are 8 a.m. - noon Monday-Friday and customers are seen on a walk-in basis. 

The center is open to all Department of Defense military members, their dependents and retirees. To expedite the process of getting your taxes prepared, please be sure to bring all required documents.

Items required for tax-return preparation:

· Proof of identification
· Social Security cards for individual and dependents; Social Security number verification letter issued by the Social Security Administration
· Birthdates for individuals and dependents listed on the tax return
· Current year's tax package, if received
· Wage and earning statements, including W-2 or W-2G forms
· Form 1099, interest and dividend statement from banks
· A copy of last year's Federal and State tax returns, if available
· A canceled check, to obtain bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit
· Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number (the provider's Social Security number or the provider's business employer identification number)
· For married couples filing a joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms
