Tyndall F-15 ground mishap Published Jan. 24, 2008 By Courtesy of 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs 325th FW/PA TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- An F-15C Eagle, assigned to the 2d Fighter Squadron, experienced a ground mishap at approximately 8:10 a.m. Tuesday on the flightline here. The F-15C, which had just landed, taxied off the taxiway and hit a light post, causing the light post to fall on to the aircraft. There was one person on board. Fire crews responded immediately to the scene and the pilot suffered no injuries as a result of the incident. "This incident is under investigation, but initial assessment points to brake failure as the root cause," said Brig. Gen. Tod Wolters, 325th Fighter Wing commander. "As we investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the mishap, I remain confident in the safety of our F-15 fleet and it's ability to fulfill our training mission."
