Halloween safety reminder Published Oct. 31, 2007 By 325th Security Forces Squadron 325th SFS TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team Tyndall is promoting a safe and happy Halloween today from 5:30 through 7:30 p.m. for the Tyndall Air Force Base community and their guests. Using safety tips and common sense, you can turn your trick-or-treating experience into a family-safe event; keeping adults happy, yet still making it enjoyable for the kids. Kids love Halloween; they get to dress up and collect free candy. Unfortunately, the excitement of the holiday can sometimes take the participants' focus away from being careful. During Halloween, children are more prone to accidents and injuries; however, there are many ways to keep the children safe from avoidable mishaps. Children aren't the only ones looking forward to having fun. Adults also enjoy spending time with their little goblins or ghosts while taking them from house to house. Accompanying your children while trick-or-treating is a great way to have fun and also supervise the children's safety. When attending Halloween parties, keep an eye on alcohol consumption; don't let it get out of hand and be sure to have a designated driver. Take the keys away from anyone that may try to drive after having too much to drink. Remember: you drink and drive, you lose.
