Members from the 325th Civil Engineer Squadron and the 325th Services Squadron met July 24 for a meeting to discuss the design for a new fitness center here.

"The project will be in design phase for the next eight to nine months," said Chaman Khanna, 325th CES architect. "The architect-engineer will revise and finalize the design and construction schedule, and send it back to us here."

The new fitness center will be built west of the Berg-Liles Dining Facility and to the east of the Enlisted Club here.

"This $18 million dollar project is scheduled to begin around August 2008," said Randal Shircel, 325th SVS deputy chief of services. "But, this could change due to weather or other unforeseen issues."

If there are no delays, the new fitness center could be done between December 2009 and January 2010, said Shircel.

Until then, the current fitness center will still be in use. Once the new fitness center is built, the current fitness center will no longer be used.
