TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- An F-22 Raptor gets a "bird bath" near the end of the runway here. Because of Tyndall's coastal location, corrosion is accelerated by the salty sea air. To combat this, the jets are washed on a daily basis to rinse off the salt residue and prevent corrosion.
