In conjunction with the Squadron of the Week Program, the Public Affairs office asks each squadron's leadership to select one Unsung Hero that exemplifies what it means to be a part of their organization. The 325th Operations Support Squadron selected Airman 1st Class Brooke Piatkowski, 325th OSS Operations Intelligence apprentice.

In the short time she has been here, Piatkowski has earned a reputation as a positive go-getter that works exceptionally hard and does not shy away from a challenge.

"I love my job, and I can't imagine doing anything else," said Piatkowski. "I like it because I have access to information, and I get to provide that intelligence to make the mission happen."

The Tampa, Fla. native went to Lennard High School and received her Associates at Hillsborough Community College, then joined the Air Force in 2014. She joined Tyndall's Silver Knights in December of last year.

While Piatkowski was growing up, her dad Mark Piatkowski had a huge influence on her life.

"He is definitely my ultimate role model," said Piatkowski. "He immigrated to the United States from Poland when he was very young. From there he built himself up, starting in construction then going to medical school."

Outside of work she can usually be found working on her tennis backswing or volunteering for organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society, but her focus is always on being the best Airman she can be.

"When I got here, I sat down with my supervisor to see what I had to do to become a five, not just get the number on an Enlisted Performance Report but be the actual Airman that it represents," said Piatkowski. "She really has been the one to help and push me to become the Airman that I am today. She's just an amazing supervisor."

Her supervisor, SrA Megan Holgerson, 325th OSS Intelligence Flight analyst, noticed her drive from the moment she met her.

"I'm extremely proud of her," said Holgerson. "She has a natural curiosity that she brought in right from the get go. Her personality meshes with this career field very easily just because of her general hunger to learn. She also has a natural ability to grasp concepts that even some more seasoned Airmen struggle with."
