SCARE-SAFE this Halloween Published Oct. 28, 2015 By Senior Airman Dustin Mullen 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- With Halloween fast approaching, the Tyndall Safety Office would like to remind all of Team Tyndall to remain safe during the holiday. "Safety should always be at the forefront of your mind, especially during holidays," said Tech. Sgt. Jeffery Hall, 325th Fighter Wing Safety Office NCO in charge of occupational safety. "We highly encourage people to think before they act and not to accept unnecessary risks when celebrating." With decorations going up and little ones out running door to door, remove any tripping hazards such as hoses, leashes and extension cords from your yard. Also make sure any outdoor decorations that require power are rated to be used outdoors and use lights inside pumpkins versus candles to reduce fire hazards. Airmen are encouraged to make safety a top concern and follow the tips below: · Stay in groups. · Costumes should be well fitting and flame resistant. · Always test makeup for allergic reactions. · Remember to look both ways when crossing streets. · Examine all treats before eating. · Stay on sidewalks when possible. · Avoid dark houses that seem unoccupied. · Flashlight or glow sticks should be used for visibility. · Enjoy with caution!
