Two Team Tyndall Airmen won the General Lew Allen Jr. Trophy recently.  The award recognizes two categories of individuals, base-level logistics readiness officers and senior NCOs directly involved in mission execution.

Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Dobbertin, 325th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels superintendent, and Capt. Chancellor Larracuente, 325th LRS operation officer, were awarded the trophy for their key leadership and guidance in standing up and maintaining the new squadron.

"This award validates the great team that exists in the 325th LRS," said Larracuente. "We activated in April of 2014, and from day one, we have been working to ensure we can deploy combat air power from this base."

The squadron was contractor-operated since 1997; we converted 111 contractors' positions to 261 active duty and civilian positions in just under 12 months, Dobbertin added.
"The efforts of the stand-up enabled the 95th Fighter Squadron to complete Tyndall's first-ever combat deployment with the F-22 Raptor, providing air dominance to the combatant commanders in the area of responsibility," said Dobbertin.

A lot of firsts accomplished at the squadron were due to the great people there, added Larracuente.

"It is very humbling to be recognized at such a level," said Dobbertin. "The unique opportunity to stand up a new squadron was extremely challenging and rewarding. I was very lucky to have been given such an awesome opportunity to work with such a dynamic group of Team Tyndall leaders.  I couldn't be happier then to have worked next to Captain Larracuente every day and for the two of us to have been recognized together could not have worked out any better."

Both Dobbertin and Larracuente were very thankful to their families, leadership and members of the squadron who helped them to obtain this award.

"To the men and women of the LRS," Dobbertin concluded. "These awards may have a single name on them but Captain Larracuente and I know that without you and your amazing dedication to our mission they would not be possible. Continue the great work and don't stop pushing forward, next stop for the 325th LRS; U.S. Air Force Daedalian, Major General Warren R. Carter Logistics Effectiveness Award."
