Military education night

Florida State University is slated to host a military education night between 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Holley Academic Center.
The Holley Academic Center is located at 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City, Fla. 32405.

As advertised on a Florida State University Panama City flier, the purpose of the evening is to showcase local education resources for active-duty, reserve, retired and military families. The event is sponsored by Florida State, Embry-Riddle and Troy Universities, as well as, Gulf Coast State College.

Attendees will:

· Learn about financial aid, VA educational benefits, the G.I. Bill and tuition reimbursement programs
· Meet representatives from local higher-education institutions
· Explore academic degree programs available on area campuses and online

"I'm hoping this event will provide information and access to educational opportunities in the local region," said Dorothy Imperial, FSU assistant teaching professor in education). "Timely and accurate advising is critical to educational success.  This event will provide such resources all in one location."

The event will have numerous volunteers and sponsors to assist those in attendance.

"It is very exciting to see all these educational resources come together in support of our extended military community," Imperial said. "I'm looking forward to the event and I hope to see this event grow with each year.  Aligning resources and strengthening partnerships behooves us all."
