The Base Operator is back

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --  As part of an initiative by Air Combat Command, a base operator program has been activated at Tyndall to assist people with obtaining base phone numbers.

This program compiles a list of frequently used phone numbers into an easy-to-navigate menu, as well as a live operator to direct calls.

"ACC is consolidating operators scattered throughout the country into two call centers," said John McGuire, 325th Communications Squadron commercial communications manager. "The telephone operators who will handle incoming calls at Tyndall will be at Langley AFB, Virginia."

This initiative will give people easier access to base facility phone numbers, said McGuire.
