Attendees can expect an assortment of activities, sustenance and entertainment provided by organizations associated with the 325th FSS. "Freedom Fest is an event that happens every year on the 4th of July," said Daniel Albin, 325th FSS marketing director. "It's a way that we give back to the Tyndall community by providing services typically offered for a monetary fee. Only this time the services are for free." The event will take place in several locations across the installation. Different activities offered include swimming at the base pool, shuttle to shell island, boat rides at Bonita Bay and bowling at Raptor lanes, all of which is free. "At the Raptor Games bowling center you get two games of bowling," said Albin. "They will also be offering a lunch there with hamburgers and hot dogs. At the Bonita Bay outdoor recreation center you'll be allotted 45 minutes per canoe and kayak rentals." The Marina will be offering shell island shuttle. The shuttle is scheduled to take passengers to shell island for free by boat. "The cost to go to shell island is normally five dollars a person." said Albin. New additions are also being added to the event, specifically through Tyndall's Outdoor Recreation center. "This year we've added free boat rides and have some fun and new equipment to rent from Bonita Bay's ODR center," said Karalee Duckworth, 325th FSS commercial sponsorship coordinator. "This includes new YOLO Yaks that help teach kids and adults how to paddleboard." Services for the event will be offered from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. "The whole intent behind it is to celebrate everyone's freedom and offer free stuff," said Albin "The Freedom fest doesn't just take place in one location it happens all across Tyndall."
