The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosted the Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony May 13 at the Horizons Community Center to award Tyndall's top volunteers of 2014.

Last year Team Tyndall members reported more than 17,900 volunteer hours on base and in the local community.

"Our volunteers give their time, knowledge and effort for the sole purpose of helping others," said Jim Cheas, 325th Force Support Squadron community readiness specialist and base volunteer coordinator. "No doubt, they will inevitably have a positive impact on someone or something. Regardless of who or when, they will touch someone's life in a very positive way, most times unknowingly."

Tyndall's top volunteers received Presidential Volunteer Service Awards which included a lapel pin and certificate to recognize their hard work.

According to their website, the President's Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.

During the ceremony, the top volunteers were recognized according to age and hours volunteered.
