With summer right around the corner, it is time to bust out the sunscreen, goggles and swimming attire and head down to the base pool.

The pool opens Memorial Day weekend on May 23.

Hours of operation:
Tuesday - Friday 1 - 7 p.m. for open swim
Tuesday - Friday 6 - 8 a.m. and 12 - 1 p.m. for lap swim
Saturday - Sunday and Holidays 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. for open swim
Closed Mondays

"The pool will remain open through Labor day weekend," said Gary Williams, 325th Force Support Squadron Bonita Bay Outdoor Recreation manager. "It will be accessible to active duty personnel, dependents, retirees, Department of Defense employees, Tyndall contractors and guests of ID card holders."

A daily pass will cost $3 and a season pass will cost $55 for one person and $5 for each additional family member.  The pool is open to active duty at no charge for lap swim.

"The pool is a family oriented facility where people can gather for family fun," said Williams. "Unlike the ocean you don't have live sea creatures such as sharks, sting rays, crabs and jellyfish to name a few. You also don't have to worry about undertow conditions that can be unpredictable."
