Gulf Coast Salute attendee transportation Published April 1, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Ty-Rico Lea 325th Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- With the Tyndall Gulf Coast Salute open house and air show preparing to kick off April 11 and 12, the 325th Logistics Readiness Squadron and 325th Security Forces Squadron has several transportation methods in place to ease traffic congestion during the event. "Attendees have the option to ride the buses or walk from designated parking areas to the flight line due to parking constraints," said Staff Sgt. John Rogers, 325th LRS vehicle operations control center NCO In-Charge. "The plan is to move as many individuals as possible, as efficiently as possible, and to provide world class support." Security Forces and LRS have several parking locations for attendees to include primary, alternate and special event parking. Alternate parking will be used if the designated parking areas fill up while the special event parking is for air show workers and distinguished visitors. Air show attendees who would rather walk can use walking paths provided by the 325th SFS. "The pedestrian path will allow people to walk from the parking areas on the south side of base to the main entry control point on the north side," said Capt. Tate Grogan, 325th SFS operations officer. "Visitors who choose to use the pedestrian route should follow the guidance of Tyndall police and security forces. The pedestrian route is approximately a mile long, and some portions will require visitors to walk on the grass and not on a side walk." There will be 20 buses active, each with a capacity for 44 people. "Individuals will be able to park their privately owned vehicles in the designated areas located on the map," said Rogers. "The buses will then transport the personnel from each designated parking area to the entry control point to attend the air show." Adult visitors are required to have their driver's licenses readily available while attending the air show. "All children on the bus will need a parent or guardian with them. Other than that, passengers will only be on the bus for a few minutes," said Rogers. Admission and parking for the show will be free and security will be emphasized: no coolers (unless needed for medical reasons), pets, weapons, knives, glass bottles or containers will be allowed. "All attendees must remove their belongings from the bus," said Rogers. "Vehicle operations can't be liable for any belongings."
