Switching places TMO and MPS

The 325th Logistics Readiness Squadron and 325th Force Support Squadron's Military Personnel Section's Customer Support switched office locations Feb. 2.

Both facilities have resumed operations and customers will now find the MPS's customer support office located in Room 152 and the Travel Management Office located in Room 129 of bldg. 662.

The move was executed by two representatives from the TMO office and MPS office, who explained the reasoning for the move.

"Customer Support in the MPS has approximately 200 to 250 customers per week and the office didn't have enough space," said Master Sgt. Jacob Thomas, 325th FSS MPS customer support superintendent. "This would cause, at times, members to have to wait in the halls or in the atrium of the building. TMO had a much larger area, but a fraction of the customers, so a switch seemed prudent."

The TMO mission is to provide world class logistics support to ensure installation and expeditionary success, said Staff Sgt. Martin Rodriguez, 325th LRS NCO in-charge of Personal Property.

"Our office has two sections we take care of: personal property and passenger movement," said SSgt Rodriguez. "Personal Property is responsible for administering the Department of Defense Personal Property movement program. Passenger Movement provides official travel services for the movement of DoD Personnel and dependents.  When a member is making a Permanent Change of Station overseas or deploying, we make sure they are booked accordingly."

The 325th MPS has a similar mission assisting personnel.

"The MPS Customer Support office is responsible for identification cards for active duty, reserve, national guard, civilian contractors, dependents and retirees," said Thomas. "In addition, we are also responsible for the Individualized Newcomer Treatment and Orientation Program, in-processing, gains, allocations, Initial Duty Assignment updates, accessions, U.S. citizenship and Servicemember's Group Life Insurance."

Now, with the desired space needed to accommodate seating in the MPS waiting area, representatives hope customers can wait comfortably to be assisted.
