During Tyndall's deployment exercise Aug. 11 to 15, the installation's tempo is increasing steadily and its occupants are working 24 hour operations.

In order to obtain mission success, Team Tyndall members must ensure they are taking safe measures.

"Personnel are our most valuable asset," said Tech. Sgt. Michael Martin, 325th Fighter Wing Ground Safety NCO in charge. "It doesn't matter how advanced and capable our jets are; without healthy personnel to work and support them, they won't make it off the ground."

Martin describes safety tips Team Tyndall members should keep in mind:

- This week's extended hours, along with personnel changing shifts, make it important to watch out for fatigued workers. Mishaps are more likely to occur at night or the end of a worker's shift.
-Wear reflective belts as required.
-Personal protective equipment can protect you from serious injury, if worn properly. Note: Safety glasses cannot protect eyes if they are worn on top of one's head.
-It is important to stay hydrated and know the signs of heat related illnesses, i.e. cramps, nausea, headaches, dizziness and fatigue.
-Due to an increased amount of activity on the flight-line side, be cautious and limit traveling on Florida Ave.
