The 325th Fighter Wing will be conducting an exercise Aug. 11 through 15 in an effort to test capabilities of projecting combat air power.

"We are conducting a deployment/employment exercise," said Frank LaBroad, 325th Fighter Wing Exercise Plans chief. "We will be working around the clock."

The deployment portion of the exercise will test the wing's ability to deliver combat capability when and where it is needed.  The exercise will prepare personnel, aircraft and support equipment for a simulated departure. During the employment phase, personnel will receive and operate the equipment and aircraft they have prepared, LaBroad explained.

The community will likely witness extended flying hours and possibly hear exercise alarm messages played on the giant voice broadcasting system.

"The effect to those off base will be minimal," LaBroad said.

The wing typically exercises a variety of situations six times per year ranging from hurricane preparations to emergency response scenarios.

"Exercises establish muscle memory and enable continuous improvement through repetition.  During this exercise the focus is on projecting combat air power," LaBroad said.

Home to the largest fleet of F-22 Raptors in the world, the mission of the 325th Fighter Wing is to train and project unrivaled combat air power.
