Oliver North is scheduled to appear at the Tyndall Base Exchange June 21 to sign autographs in promotion of his new book, "Counterfeit Lies." North is taking part in a nationwide book tour, stopping at different cities and military installations along the way. "I think he'll draw a pretty good crowd," said Phillip Capshaw, Army & Air Force Exchange Service general manager. "He interacts with the troops, and I think from that perspective he's going to boost morale here at Tyndall." North served in the Marine Corps for 22 years, earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star for valor, and two Purple Hearts for wounds sustained in action, according to his official website. Since retiring from the military he wrote 13 books, all of which were New York Times best sellers, and he currently hosts the show, "War Stories" on Fox News Channel. "It's the perfect opportunity to showcase a former military member who has been very successful in the private sector," Capshaw said. Books will be available for purchase during the event. After his visit to Tyndall, North will take his book tour to Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
