Tyndall hosted a Developmental Special Duty Job Fair March 7 at the Horizons Community Center.

It began with a short overview of the program by Lt. Col. Kyle Head, 325th Force Support Squadron commander, and Senior Master Sgt. Kristy Earls, 325th Force Support Squadron career assistance advisor, and remained open for attendees to visit informational booths.

"This is an opportunity for Airmen to step outside their career fields and comfort zones to do something to help support the Air Force," said Earls. "It is an opportunity to get a different perspective, and bring it back to our own career fields and help develop people."

The event featured representatives that currently or previously have served in DSD career fields. The career fields included Technical Training Instructor, Career Assistance Advisor, Military Training Instructor, Airmen and Family Readiness Center NCO, First Sergeant, Honor Guard NCO, Recruiter and Professional Military Education Instructor.

"What I think is most important is education about opportunities that are out there," said Head. "There are different kinds of personalities and skill sets that would lend themselves to one particular assignment over the other, and we want to have a good match of, not only their career development, but also what would be a good match for them personally. We are trying to help people understand what each of the jobs requires, so they can make an educated decision on what they will potentially volunteer for."
