Tyndall commander announces base closure for Jan. 30 Published Jan. 29, 2014 By 2nd Lt. Christopher Bowyer-Meeder 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- Due to the forecasted impacts of continued inclement weather, all military and civilian personnel assigned to Tyndall in non-mission critical jobs are directed by the 325th Fighter Wing Commander to remain at home Thursday, Jan. 30. All individuals will report to work Friday, Jan. 31, at normal reporting times unless notified otherwise. All medical appointments are canceled, and all medical facilities are closed until Friday, Jan. 31. Personnel not knowing their status should contact their commander or supervisor. Contractors should consult their cognizant contracting officer for specific instructions. Base personnel should continue to check with their supervisor, work centers, the Tyndall website or the Tyndall Facebook page for additional information. The following facilities will remain open: Berg Liles Dining Facility Lodging Additionally, the following facilities on the installation will be closed Jan. 30, and return to normal operations on Jan. 31: All AAFES facilities Commissary Tyndall Federal Credit Union (Base Branch) Visitor Control Center VACIS - Commercial Search Gate Airey NCO Academy - make-up class on Feb. 1 Child Development Center Youth Center Fitness Center Airman Leadership School - make-up class on Feb. 1 Raptor Quick Turn flightline kitch Heritage Club Oasis/Horizons Community Center Arts & Crafts Marina Outdoor Recreation Airman and Family Readiness - TAP Class special instructions from instructor Education Center - Decisions on evening classes will be made by individual schools Library Bowling Alley - League play cancelled Tuesday evening The Tyndall Waterways Security Proposal Town Hall scheduled for Jan. 30 in Mexico Beach has also been postponed.
