More than 135 senior citizens from the surrounding community attended the 27th Annual Golden Age Holiday Party Dec. 17 at the Horizons Community Center.

The event, hosted by the Tyndall Chief's Association, featured complimentary food and drinks, as well as singing, dancing, prizes and a special guest appearance by Santa!

The honored guests, who came from an array of local senior communities, to include Bay County Council of Aging and the Sims Veterans Home, were joined by approximately 90 volunteer Airmen.

"This party helps us show our support," said Senior Airman Justin Brossman, 325th Maintenance Squadron ammunition controller. "It shows that we still care, kind of like a thank you."

The volunteers not only helped served the refreshments and snacks, they also joined the attendees on the dance floor.

"The most standout part of the whole event was the national anthem", said Brossman, "the entire group stood and sang along."

John Sitten, a retired Army quartermaster of 28 years, has looked forward to this event since last year.

"I am really impressed with the chiefs for putting this on," said Sitten. "This is my second time coming, and I'm amazed with the decorations and volunteers. I love the comradery"

Each guest returned home with a fruit basket, as well as, one of several different prizes.
