TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- When a person happens upon a job that is also their passion, it makes keeping morale high that much easier. A member of the 325th Training Support Squadron molds her future by her own design.
Chasity Burg is currently a graphic artist working for the 325th TRSS’s Training and Development Flight. She is a part of a team that creates training materials for Tyndall’s F-22 Raptor student pilots.
“I enjoy my position with 325th TRSS because I not only get to follow my passions of being a creative artist and helping people, but I also get to be a part of a great mission to help save lives,” said Burg. “I'd say I'm one of the lucky people who not only gets to follow their passions within their career, but I also get to stand for something greater then myself.”
Burg was raised by her father, Loren, in Sartell.
“I'm lucky to have a supportive father who taught me to stand up for what I believe in, to never settle when I deserve better, to improve what I can control and not dwell on what I cannot, and to strive for growth and greatness within myself,” she said.
Burg joined the United States Army in 2003 and was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia. She received a Purple Heart after a mortar attack in Abu Ghraib during her Iraq deployment. After her service in the Army, she attended the Art Institute of Tampa, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 2010. She also recently earned a Master’s Degree in Management.
When she is not working or going to school, Burg is an avid world traveler. She’s been to Scotland, Ireland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Australia and Canada.
“I like to travel for my whole birthday month,” she said. “I like a month because I get a better understanding and get to really enjoy the world's beauty and the vast cultures.”
Burg also enjoys working on her motorcycle and Jeep, as well as high intensity sports like mixed martial arts training, skydiving and whitewater rafting. Another important thing Burg strives for is a healthy body and life. She is usually at the gym every day of the week.
“Having a healthy mind, body and soul are very important to me, and this motivates me to continuously improve myself physically and mentally. I remind myself every day that we all have an expiration date, and tomorrow is never guaranteed for anyone. So I live like there is no tomorrow, because if today is my last, I'd like to look back on my life and say, ‘I had a great life, no regrets.’”
