"It has been my dream since junior high school to be a pilot," said Lt. Col. David O'Malley, 325th Operations Support Squadron commander. "The best place to fulfill that dream was in the Air Force." Lieutenant Col. David O'Malley replaces Lt. Col. Bret Anderson as commander of the 325th OSS June 17th. Colonel O'Malley was born in Phoenix and after moving several times as a child, graduated from Wilton High School, Conn. where he played for the soccer, ice hockey and baseball teams. After graduating from high school Colonel O'Malley attended the Air Force Academy where he studied engineering and earned his commission. Over the years he has flown F-16s and F-22s while juggling the important role of husband to AnnMarie and father to Ashlan, 8, and Caden, 6. "I like to run, bike and work in the yard," Colonel O'Malley said. "But I really love to spend time with my family." Most recently, Colonel O'Malley has been tasked with commanding the 325th OSS. It is a dual-hatted job which makes him responsible for Team Tyndall's airfield and aircrew support operations while continuing his duties as an F-22 instructor pilot. Colonel O'Malley previously served as the director of operations for the 43rd Fighter Squadron. "I am tremendously excited about this new opportunity," said Colonel O'Malley. "The 325th OSS is the backbone that supports our wing's mission. I am extremely proud to be joining the Silver Knight team."
