Returning with honor to tell his story
Retired Capt. William Robinson smiles as he waits to talk with each of the individual students of Airey NCO Academy lined up to meet him June 6 in the academy’s foyer. He had just shared his story with an auditorium full of students. Captain Robinson is the longest held enlisted prisoner of war in American history and is one of three Air Force enlisted men to ever receive a direct commission to Lieutenant from the president of the United States.
