Domestic Violence Awareness month

The Clothesline Project is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women and children. With the support of many, it has since spread world-wide and is displayed on Tyndall in front of Bldg. 1404, Mental Health Clinic. White represents those who have died as a result of domestic violence. Yellow represents those who were battered or assulated. Red, pink, or orange represents those who were raped or sexually assualted. Blue and green represents survivors of incest. Purple represents those who were attacked for their sexual orientation or identification. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lisa Norman)
