Sparky the Fire Dog pays a visit to Tyndall's Child Development Center Oct. 7 as part of Fire Prevention Week. The children were taught a number of fire safety lessons including the stop, drop and roll technique, how to call 911 in case of an emergency, how to safely exit a house during a fire and much more. Tyndall’s Fire and Emergency Services also stopped at Tyndall Elementary, Tyndall Youth Center and the Base Exchange, to promote fire safety. "The best part of the week, by far, was working with the kids at the CDC and elementary school." said Mr. Michael Newbury, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron fire protection specialist. "That is where we base our education. Kids tend to soak it all in and then take it home to Mom and Dad." This year’s campaign was "Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With!"
