Robotics 2
Arthur Morton, Air Force Research Laboratory robotics engineer, operates a "bomb bot." This modified remote-control truck can roll into an area of operation and drop off a bomb from its basket using a dumping mechanism similar to a child's construction truck. Its attached hand-held camera also provides surveillance capability. Approximately 6,000 of similar "bomb bots" have been purchased by the U.S. military for use in the field.
