823rd Red Horse Squadron

Staff Sgt. Mike Stuenzi, 823rd REDHORSE Squadron Detachment 1 Silver Flag student and Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician, preps simulated charge to dispose of unexploded ordinance Oct. 22 at Location X. The Silver Flag site is also home to EOD's Combat Battlefield Ready Airmen course. Deploying teams are scheduled for training according to the unit and location they are tasked. This pre-deployment course provides training to all Air Force EOD personnel deploying into the Allied Forces Central European Theater. EOD students receive three weeks of extensive training that permits them to work together prior to deployment. Training covers all technical and tactical aspects of EOD operations in the AFCENT theater environment. This vital training combines lessons previously taught at Army Combat Skills Training and the Global Antiterrorism and Operational Readiness courses.
