Tidy Up for Turtles Beach Clean-Up

Volunteers from Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., and the surrounding area took part in the “Tidy Up for Turtles Beach Clean-Up” at the Tyndall NCO Beach April 21, 2018. Volunteers walked the beach searching for visible debris in preparation for the upcoming sea turtle nesting season. Sea turtles and protected shorebirds often make the Tyndall NCO Beach their nesting grounds and are federally protected due to illegal harvesting, habitat encroachment and pollution.
