Waterway Closures

Effective immediately, Smack, Pearl, Sheephead, Freshwater and Fred Bayous are closed to all vessel traffic until further notice. Please see the map below for affected areas.

Trusted Traveler Program Suspended

Effective immediately, the Trusted Traveler Program at Tyndall is suspended until further notice. The practice of "vouching" for passengers is no longer authorized.

What this means for base visitors:

  • All vehicle occupants aged 18 and older must present a valid credential for entry. This includes a DoD ID card (CAC, Military ID, Dependent ID, etc.) or a pass issued by the Visitor Control Center.
  • Sponsors are still required. However, you may no longer vouch for your guests at the gate. All non-DoD affiliated guests must be processed at the VCC to receive an installation pass. This requires a background check.
    • If arriving at Tyndall after VCC hours of business, visitor’s passes may be issued at the Airey Gate.
    • The hours at the VCC have been extended by 30 minutes in the morning and staffing has been increased to accommodate additional visitor pass issuance.
  • Please plan accordingly and allow for extra time, especially when bringing guests onto the installation. Inform your guests of this requirement before they arrive to ensure a smooth process at the VCC.

Base operations have returned to normal. Airey Gate is now open 24/7. Commercial Gate is closed until further notice.
